Shoreham FC v Oakwood- 19 December 2020
With one of the very few games on in the county 179 fans, all covid-19 compliant, got a great thriller of a game.
The Musselmen went into the game as favorites and perhaps Shoreham took the opponents too lightly. Given this Oakwood took a shock lead with in 6 minutes with a freak goal, Stilgoe cleared the ball which rebounded off the Oakwood player only loop over Stilgoe hit the post roll along the line then back out only for a Shoreham player trying to put the ball out of play but again hits the post then fall to the feet of Oakwoods number 11 to slot it home.
Shoreham then put the pressure on Oakwood for the whole of the first half hitting the woodwork 3 times and missing plenty of opportunities to put the game to bed in the first half.
The Second half saw Shoreham again with most of the possession and the better chances and eventually finding the net in the 51st minute with a well placed header from Michael Death.
Against run of play Oakwood took the lead again from another freak goal making it 1-2. Again Shoreham kept piling on the pressure and in the 88th minute Ramon Santos made it 2-2 and then super sub Scott Clampin sealing the win with a 91st minute goal. That is now 3 wins on the bounce and the Musselmen travel to local rivals Mile Oak on Boxing day which is set to be another thriller.
