Shoreham FC v Midhurst & Easbourne- Nov 27th 2021
Seven goals, multiple bookings, a howling gale, and a few mysterious refereeing decisions made this game one not to forget. With 5th place hosting 3rd place the game was always going to be tense but considering the conditions the teams put on a super display.
With the wind at their backs the Musselmen soon opened the scoring when Jordan Stalibrass pounced on a clearance following a John Lansdale corner and converted with ease (1-0). Almost at once Midhurst broke away and home keeper Ricardo Alves had to make a brilliant save to deny Billy Connor. Continuous home pressure failed to increase the lead until just before the interval that man Jordan
Stalibrass headed number two from 5 yards out (2-0).
The second half began with the visitors pounding the Shoreham goal, and it was no surprise when Midhurst pulled one back, and not long after it was 2-2 when Jake Slater hit a half volley from the edge of the box, the ball squirming through and past an unsighted Alves. Shoreham then brought on top scorer Ramon Santos, and he put the Musselmen ahead with an unbelievable curling finish from outside the
area (3-2). Straight away Midhurst were awarded a penalty which was put away into the corner to make it 3-3. Jack Nicholls was stretchered off with a back injury during the half, but in injury time the match was won when a Stalibrass shot was parried by the keeper straight into the path of Ramon Santos who made no mistake. What a match!
